Junshi Reports anti-PCSK9 mAb Lowers Cholesterol in Phase III Trials

Shanghai Junshi Biosciences reported its anti-PCSK9 mAb met the primary Phase III endpoints in two trials that enrolled patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed hyperlipidemia. Dyslipidemia, the increase of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), is the most important risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases. PCSK9 inhibitors, a new class of lipid-lowering drugs, are recommended in China and overseas guidelines for the condition. There are two imported ant-PCSK9 mAbs approved for China use -- Amgen’s Repatha and Sanofi and Regeneron’s Praluent -- but no domestic versions. More details....
