Sinopharm in Hunt for $3 Billion German Generic Drug Company

Sinopharm Group Co. survived the first round of bidding for German generic-drug maker Radiopharm GmbH and could be a winner in the auction to acquire the company, as second-round bids were submitted last week. It was joined by fellow drug companies Teva Pharmaceuticals (NSDQ: TEVA) and Sanofi-Aventis (NYSE: SNY) and as many as three other companies, according to a story in Bloomberg News.
