US-based venture capitalists committed $29.4 billion to 3,813 projects during 2007. That was an 11% increase over 2006 and the highest level of investments since 2001. In addition to those figures, US investors put $1.4 billion into 133 China-based deals and $1.1 billion into projects in India, both of them all-time records.
