Kintor Approved to Begin China Phase II Trial for Pulmonary Fibrosis Candidate

Suzhou Kintor Pharma announced conditional China approval for a Phase II trial of its small molecule Hedgehog/SMO inhibitor to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Currently, there are no effective therapies to stop or cure the fibrosis process of IPF, though the Hedgehog signaling pathway become a target for addressing the disease. GT1708F is a highly active and specific inhibitor of SMO protein, which lowers activity of the Hedgehog pathway and expression of its downstream proteins, thereby treating IPF. Previously, GT1708F showed a good safety trial in a China Phase I trial for patients with hematologic malignancies. More details....
