DelMar Reports VAL-083 Increases Progression-Free Survival in GBM

DelMar Pharma of San Diego announced its VAL-083 increased progression-free survival in patients with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) in a China Phase II trial. The first 22 patients reported a median PFS of 9.9 months and the first 18 patients, some of whom received an increased dose, had a median PFS of 10.4 months. Although the trial was not a head-to-head comparison, the standard temozolomide (TMZ) treatment has a PFS of 6.9 months. All patients in the trial had an unmethylated promoter of the methylguanine DNA-methyltransferase (MGMT) gene, which usually causes resistance to chemotherapy. More details....
