CASI's In-licensed CAR-T Candidate to Start China Trials for Leukemia/Lymphoma

publication date: Dec 4, 2019

CASI Pharma announced China approval to start clinical trials of CNCT19, a CD19 CAR-T treatment, in leukemia and lymphoma patients. Earlier this year, CASI acquired global rights to the candidate from Juventas Cell Therapy of Beijing in exchange for an $11.6 million investment in Juventas rather than an upfront payment. Juventas retains responsibility for trials of CNCT19. CASI, a Maryland-China biopharma, said the CD19 CAR-T therapy will be tested in patients with relapsed/refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and relapsed/refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
