GSK Devotes Unit to Traditional Chinese Medicine R&D

GlaxoSmithKline said it will begin investigating traditional Chinese medicines, studying effective examples to see whether the company can make synthetic versions of them – a combination of TCM and modern drug development. Three years ago, GSK reorganized its drug R&D operation into about 40 Discovery Performance Units, each one devoted to a particular target. Last week, GSK said it would organize a DPU that focuses on TCM. More details....
