Merck KGaA Buys Lab Equipment Maker Beijing Skywing

Merck KGaA of Germany has acquired Beijing Skywing Technology, paying 120 million RMB ($18.2 million). Skywing makes cell culture media products and bioreactors, along with providing related services. Merck will add the company to its Millipore Division, a US-based laboratory supply company that Merck bought for $7.2 billion in March 2010. Merck touted Skywing’s close relationships with China vaccine makers as part of its rationale for the purchase. More details....
