CNBG Given Go-Ahead to Test HFMD Vaccine

China National Biotech Group Co. Ltd. received approval from the SFDA to conduct clinical trials of a vaccine for hand, foot and mouth disease. HFMD, which is caused by enterovirus 71 (EV71), is a recurrent problem in China, mainly affecting children under the age of five. An outbreak of the disease is currently plaguing South Korea.
