Excel PharmaStudies won three Asia Pacific Excellence in Healthcare Awards from Frost & Sullivan. The company was presented with all three CRO awards, including “Asia Pacific Clinical Research Organization of the Year.” The awards were part of 20 such honors given to life science companies that operate in the Asia Pacific area.

Dr. William Xiong, CEO of Excel, said in a statement, “We are particularly proud to win these awards since they are based on feedback to Frost & Sullivan from the industry and from our clients.”

Held at the InterContinental hotel in Singapore, the fourth annual Frost & Sullivan banquet bestowed honors on companies for achievements in pharmaceuticals, clinical diagnostics, imaging, generics, biotech, clinical research services and medical devices.

Reenita Das, senior vice president for healthcare practice at Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific, noted the healthcare sector in Asia will outperform US and European markets in the coming years. According to Frost & Sullivan’s analysis, Asia will represent 25% of worldwide healthcare revenues in 3 years, up from its current level of 18%.

In addition to the overall CRO of the Year award, Excel also won the awards for “Asia Pacific Clinical Research Organization Competitive Strategy Leadership of the Year,” and “Clinical Research Organization Growth Strategy of the Year.”

A worldwide research organization, operating in many business sectors including healthcare, Frost & Sullivan also offers best practice and specialized consulting services to clients.

In the past few weeks, Excel has been very much in the news. The company formed an alliance with GVK Biosciences, a CRO based in Hyderabad, to offer clinical trial services in China and India, and it opened a new facility in China Medical City, Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province, which is dedicated to biometric services.
