Novartis Announces 30% Increase in 2008 China Revenues

Novartis reported that 2008 revenues in China were up 29% to 3.3 billion RMB ($428 million). The company expects its China sales to rise another 30% in 2009. Globally, the company is hoping for a 5% increase in its top line. Novartis also said it plans to introduce six new drugs to China during 2009 and to increase its employee count by 20%. The company is building a new R&D center in Shanghai, a project announced last year. More details...
