Phytomedics Testing TCM Drug for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Phytomedics of Jamesburg, New Jersey is developing a TCM drug that has begun a Phase III trial in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. PMI-001 is extracted from the skinned root of the Thunder God vine, whose leaves, flowers, and root skin can be poisonous. In China, it is taken for excessive menstrual periods or autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and lupus. PMI-001 is an oral drug, protected by six patents, that has shown anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant effects. More details...
